Leo's Bravery Quest

Leo was going to sleep over at his Grandma Rose’s house. He packed his pajamas, his toothbrush, and his very best friend, a fuzzy lion named Rory. But he also packed a big, wobbly feeling in his tummy. It was his first sleepover there.

When they arrived, Grandma Rose gave him a giant hug. "I have a special adventure planned for us tonight, my little lion," she whispered. "It's a Bravery Quest!"

The first quest was to find the secret ingredient for "Midnight Munchie Cookies." They tiptoed into the kitchen, and Grandma Rose pointed to a jar high on a shelf. "The chocolate chips!" she giggled.

While the cookies baked, filling the house with a yummy smell, their next quest began: building the coziest fort in the world. They gathered blankets and pillows, draping them over chairs in the living room.

Inside their fort, Grandma Rose opened a big, old book. It wasn't a storybook, it was a photo album! "This was your mommy when she was your age," she said, pointing to a picture of a little girl with a missing tooth. Leo giggled.

After cookies and milk, it was time for the final part of the quest. "This," said Grandma Rose, opening a door, "is the Lion's Den." The room had a bed with a fluffy, golden blanket and a small lamp that made star shapes on the ceiling.

Leo looked at the cozy bed. He looked at Rory the lion. The wobbly feeling in his tummy was almost gone. It had been replaced by the warm, sweet smell of cookies.

Grandma Rose tucked him in. "Brave lions need their rest for tomorrow's adventures," she said, kissing his forehead. "I'm just in the next room if you need anything at all."

Leo snuggled under the golden blanket. He thought about the cookies, the fort, and the funny picture of his mom. He felt safe and warm. Being at Grandma's house wasn't scary. It was an adventure.

In the morning, the sun peeked into the room. Leo woke up feeling proud. He had completed the Bravery Quest! And he couldn't wait for his next sleepover adventure at Grandma Rose's house.
