Sammy bounced with excitement. Today was Super Shopping Day! He had saved his allowance for weeks, and his piggy bank felt heavy. 'Remember, Sammy,' Mom said, 'we're shopping for needs first, then we can think about wants.'

Their first stop was the shoe store. Sammy’s old sneakers had holes in them. 'These new ones are a need,' Mom explained, pointing to a sturdy pair. 'They keep your feet safe and warm.'

Next, they went to the grocery store. 'We need healthy food to grow strong,' Mom said as she put apples and carrots into the trolley. Sammy helped by picking out his favorite crunchy cereal.

After needs were taken care of, it was time for wants! Sammy’s eyes sparkled at the toy store. He saw a shiny red race car and a fluffy blue teddy bear. Which one should he choose?

He thought about the race car. It looked fast and exciting! He imagined zooming it around the living room. But then he looked at the teddy bear. It looked so soft and cuddly.

Sammy remembered what his teacher, Miss Lily, had taught them about making good choices. 'Think about what will make you happy for a long time,' she had said.
