The first day of school was always a buzzing, exciting time for Elara. She loved seeing her friends and meeting new classmates.
1
This year, a new boy named Finn joined their class. He had a special lunchbox and always checked labels carefully.
2
Elara noticed Finn was very careful about what he ate. At snack time, he politely declined a cookie someone offered, saying, "No thank you, I have allergies."
3
Elara was curious. What were allergies? After class, she asked Ms. Anya, their kind teacher, about it.
4
Ms. Anya explained, "Allergies mean certain foods or things can make some people very sick. It's important to keep them safe by being careful about what we share."
5
Elara understood better now. She wanted to help Finn feel safe and included. She decided to ask him about his allergies.
6
Finn explained that he was allergic to peanuts and tree nuts. "It means I can't eat anything with them," he said. "But you can help by not sharing food and washing your hands after eating nuts."
7
Ms. Anya organized a class discussion about allergy awareness. Finn bravely shared his story, and everyone learned how to be allergy-aware friends.
8
Soon, the whole class was washing hands before and after meals, and making sure no nut products came into the classroom. Everyone felt safer and more connected.
9
Elara realized that understanding and empathy made a big difference. Being a safe friend was the best kind of friendship of all.
