Sammy woke up with a jiggle in her tummy. Today was the first day at a brand-new school, and she felt a little bit nervous. "What if no one wants to play?" she wondered, hugging her favorite teddy bear tight.

Her mom gave her a big hug at the school gate. "You'll do great, Sammy-kins!" she said. Sammy waved goodbye, but her tummy still felt like it had butterflies doing a dance. The school building looked so big!

Inside, the classroom was bright and colorful, but everyone seemed to know each other already. Sammy found a seat by the window and quietly drew a picture of a rainbow, wishing she had a friend to share it with.

When lunchtime came, Sammy opened her lunchbox. She had her favorite apple slices and some yummy cheese crackers. She saw other children laughing and sharing, and she felt a little bit shy about joining in.

Just then, a boy with a bright green lunchbox sat down across from her. He had a big smile. "Hi!" he said. "My name is Leo. Those crackers look super yummy!"

Sammy felt a little blush, but she smiled back. "They are!" she replied. "Would you like some?" She pushed her box of cheese crackers toward him.

Leo's eyes lit up. "Wow, thanks, Sammy!" he said, taking a cracker. "I have some amazing grape juice. Want a sip?" And just like that, they started sharing their snacks and talking about their favorite animals.

The butterflies in Sammy's tummy fluttered away, replaced by a warm, happy feeling. Sharing her snacks and saying hello had been so easy!

"Friendship starts with a simple hello," Sammy thought. And with a little kindness and openness, school didn't feel big and scary anymore. It felt like a wonderful new place to belong.

Sammy couldn't wait for tomorrow, and all the new adventures she and Leo would have. School was going to be an amazing home away from home!
