Mei held her Mama’s hand with one hand and her Papa’s hand with the other. The super mall was super big and super loud! "Wow!" she whispered, her eyes wide as she looked at all the bright, colourful lights.

A river of people rushed by. Whoosh! In the blink of an eye, Mei was holding no hands at all. "Mama? Papa?" she called, but her little voice was lost in the rumble of the crowd.

All around her were legs, legs, and more legs! It was like being in a forest of trousers and skirts. She looked up, but everyone was so tall and moving so fast.

A big, shiny red lantern hung from the ceiling, winking at her. A giant panda statue waved a friendly paw. The mall was full of amazing things, but all Mei wanted was her parents.

A little tear wobbled in her eye and was about to roll down her cheek. It felt very lonely in the big, big mall.

But then, she smelled something sweet and cold. She followed the yummy smell to a colourful cart. A kind lady with a big, warm smile was standing there. "Hello, little one," the lady said gently.

Mei nodded, her lip trembling. The lady smiled again. "A scoop of strawberry sunshine might help," she said, and handed Mei a bright pink ice cream cone.

Mei took a lick. It was sweet and cold and chased the tear away! She looked up to say thank you, but the kind lady was pointing right behind her.

"Mei!" Two voices called her name. It was Mama and Papa! They rushed towards her, their faces full of worry and love.

Papa scooped her up in a big, safe hug, and Mama kissed her cheek, which was a little sticky from the ice cream. "We were so worried!" Mama said. "I wasn't scared," Mei said, holding up her cone. "I had strawberry sunshine!"
