In a cozy little house, a family of four began their day. Amelia, the curious 5-year-old, wanted to play with her toys right away. But Mom said, “First, let’s tidy up the living room together!” Setting a loving boundary helps us have a nice space to play!

After tidying up, it was time for breakfast. Dad said, “We need to eat our fruits before dessert.” Amelia frowned, but Mom knelt down and said, “Fruits give you energy to play, and dessert is a special treat!”
Knowing why helps us understand boundaries better.
Later in the day, Amelia wanted to jump on the couch. Mom gently said, “Couches are for sitting, not jumping. Let’s find a safe place for that!”
Amelia paused, then said, “Can I jump on the trampoline outside?” Mom smiled, “Great idea! Let’s go together!”
As the evening approached, Amelia felt tired and cranky. “I don’t want to brush my teeth!” she huffed. Dad knelt beside her, saying, “I understand. It’s hard to stop playing. Let’s sing a song while we brush. It’ll be fun!”
Singing made the routine easier!
At bedtime, Amelia snuggled into bed, feeling loved and secure. “Thank you for helping me today!” she said. Mom and Dad exchanged smiles. “Boundaries keep us safe, and we love you very much!” they replied. “Goodnight, sweet Amelia!”
Together, they felt happy and connected.
