Leo was a kind boy who lived in a green jungle. His best friend was a beautiful hen named Sunny. Sunny's feathers were bright yellow, like a morning sunbeam, and she followed Leo everywhere he went. They loved to play hide-and-seek among the giant trees.
One morning, Leo woke up, but Sunny was gone. He called her name, "Sunny! Sunny!" He looked under every bush and behind every tree, but he couldn't find her anywhere.
Leo felt very sad. His heart felt heavy, like a big, grey stone. He missed her happy clucking and the soft feel of her warm feathers when she snuggled close. The jungle felt quiet without her.
A few days later, his friend, Kael, came to visit. Kael saw how sad Leo was. "Leo," Kael said, "I saw Sunny! She was on the big road near the village, but she didn't look well."
Leo's heart fluttered with a mix of hope and fear. "The road?" he asked. Without another word, Leo and Kael ran as fast as they could, their feet pounding softly on the jungle path, heading towards the village road.
There, on the side of the dusty road, was Sunny. Her bright yellow feathers were ruffled, and her leg was bent in a way that looked very wrong. She had been hurt.
With tears in his eyes, Leo gently picked her up. He held her close, feeling her tiny, shivering body. He knew he had to help her. He carried her carefully all the way to Dr. Elara, the kind vet in the village.
Dr. Elara was very kind. She carefully fixed Sunny's broken leg. She wrapped it in a little white cast, and Leo stayed right beside her, holding Sunny's tiny, warm body, whispering comforting words.
After many days of rest and care, the cast came off! Sunny took a small, wobbly step, then another. Soon, she was walking all by herself, her bright feathers gleaming. Leo was so happy that he felt like he could fly!
Leo took her home, back to the safe, green jungle. From that day on, Sunny stayed close to Leo. Their home felt full of sunshine again, and they were happier than ever. They learned that even after a sad time, a happy day can always come.
